Cadet Program
The Morgan County Sheriff Office Cadet Program is designed to mentor young adults and teach them about the law enforcement career field. As a cadet participant you will be trained in many areas of law enforcement actives such as; traffic stops, building searches, criminal statutes, crime scene processing, report writing, law enforcement driving and many other exciting areas. This program will focus heavily on personal responsibility, leadership skills and good citizenship.
Requirements
Candidates must have completed the 8th grade and be between the ages of 14 and 18 years old and be currently enrolled as a high school student with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Candidates need to have a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check. MCSO Cadets are expected to participate in monthly training sessions and other activities as assigned.
Application Process
the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office or from your high school guidance counselor. Along with the completed application packet each cadet applicant will be expected to submit an essay detailing why they want to be a cadet and character references.
After the application is received, the applicant will be expected to participate in an oral board style interview to determine his/her acceptability to the program.
